Mission Statement
The Foundation for Boston Centers for Youth & Families’ (BCYF) mission is to enhance the quality of life for Boston residents by offering a wide range of comprehensive programs and services according to neighborhood interest and need. The Foundation for BCYF serves as an invaluable resource for Boston’s families, providing an extensive range of affordable, outcome-driven programs across a network of neighborhood-based community centers.
About This Cause
For decades, Boston families have turned to Boston Centers for Youth & Families (BCYF) as an invaluable community resource. The Foundation for BCYF works in close collaboration with its public partner, Boston Centers for Youth & Families to provide a variety of affordable, high-quality, outcome-driven programs throughout the neighborhoods of Boston. The Foundation for BCYF and BCYF provides affordable programs and services for Boston’s families seeking: • After School and Summer Camp programs that engage youth in activities and programs that meet their interests and build their skills, including visual arts, sports, dance, technology, and other enrichment activities year-round, including the Camp Joy program serving children and adults with special needs. • Youth and Teen programs that provide a range of services from workforce development training & employment to tutoring, college and career exploration, Girls empowerment, and a range of sports, recreation, and social development programming. • The Streetworker program that connects with over 1,300 at-risk youth across the city each month to support violence prevention and intervention • Sports, Health, Fitness, & Recreation programs host opportunities for Boston’s families across the city, including leagues and tournaments for children and youth. • Adult Education Programs that teach over 1,200 adults each year through ESOL and GED classes • Senior Programs provide social, wellness, and enrichment opportunities for elders citywide.
