Mission Statement
A Place To Turn is committed to providing emergency food, diapers and personal care to our neighbors in the Metrowest community. We will serve those in need in an atmosphere of caring and mutual respect.
About This Cause
A Place To Turn is a food pantry serving residents of MetroWest. Open Monday to Thursday, we assist over 600 families each month. Established in the 1970's, the founders of A Place To Turn were among the first people to recognize that economic hardship existed in the suburbs and was not exclusively an urban problem. Residents of the towns we serve are able to seek assistance with groceries, personal care and diapers with proof of address. Approximately 65% of those served are Framingham residents. Other clients come primarily from Natick, Wellesley and Marlboro. We are certainly seeing increased demand at our food pantry due to economic uncertainty, job losses and difficulty of long-term residents to be able to afford the high cost of living in this area. During each visit, individuals and families receive 5-7days of food, personal care items and diapers if needed. Due to Covid protocol, we are currently serving outdoors. We are an important resource for many as we are often a bridge between services or simply enabling a family to use their limited resources otherwise. A Place To Turn is able to fulfill its mission because of the generous support of business, schools, religious organizations and private funding. Food relief is a lifeline for people, and we are here to offer critical hunger relief. Our non profit continues to make dignity and respect an important part of our service. With your help, people can feed themselves and their families, and then have the ability to move towards stability in their lives.
