Mission Statement
Helping Our Women's mission is to educate, empower, and support women as they cope with chronic or serious health conditions. HOW has an open door policy to provide referrals and advocacy to all community members.
About This Cause
Helping Our Women (HOW) is a resource center that improves access to healthcare and well-being for women living with chronic or serious health conditions in the rural Outer Cape towns of Provincetown, Truro, Wellfleet, and Eastham. We provide transportation to healthcare appointments across the Cape and as far as Boston. HOW provides benefits and medical advocacy, as well as social support and education programs. In addition, HOW runs a food and personal products pantry, as well as a free tablet/internet program for all community members. For low income women, we provide financial assistance with a monthly stipend to offset the economic burden of living with a chronic health condition.
