Mission Statement

Notre Dame Education Center (NDEC) is an adult and youth learning center founded by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, who have ministered in South Boston “to the poor in the most abandoned places” since 1849. Upon the closing of Cardinal Cushing Central High School in 1992, the Sisters recommitted to continuing their educational presence in the city and established the Center. Today, NDEC serves approximately 500 learners each year in a diverse and caring environment that empowers students to develop their full potential as scholars, workers, and citizens.
