About This Cause
HomeStart is a high-impact nonprofit that prevents and ends homelessness in the Greater Boston Area. We practice Housing First and Harm Reduction models through our innovative programs including: Homelessness Prevention for families on the verge of eviction; Affordable Housing Search for those currently homeless, residing in shelters or on the street; and our unique Stabilization Program which offers essential follow up services to formerly homeless families after they've been housed. These wraparound services assist in re-acclimating the clients back into the community, and ensure they remain housed, breaking the cycle of homelessness - 96% of our clients remain housed when tracked one year later and beyond.
