Mission Statement

Hull Seaside Animal Rescue (HSAR) was founded in December 1999 by a group of concerned area residents in response to the large number of homeless cats in the town of Hull. It started as an active trap/neuter/release (TNR) program to address the large feral cat colonies in the community. Cats identified as abandoned and friendly were taken to foster homes to await adoption. Those that were wild (feral) were released and monitored by area volunteers. In the spring of 2004, HSAR opened its shelter in a rented space here in Hull. Throughout the years, it has been our goal to establish a permanent animal shelter here in Hull to serve Hull and its surrounding towns. This goal remains and continues to be an important part of what we do and why we work so hard to grow. We are over 70 volunteers and 1 part time paid shelter manager. Since 1999, we have rescued hundreds of cats and kittens. Due to space limitations and kennel laws, HSAR houses only cats.
