Mission Statement
Our Mission Statement: “To assist individuals with special needs in achieving their full potential through interaction with horses.” Spirit Horse continues to offer instructor training in our proven riding therapy program for children and adults. We have trained over 600 instructors through the years and helped start clinics at 91 locations worldwide. The program has had such a positive impact in the lives of others, the focus will be to train other instructors to spread the positive results over a larger segment of the population. Our original program of providing free riding therapy for children has been moved to other locations and we are happy to provide contact information for our trained instructors and global affiliates.
About This Cause
SpiritHorse is an award-winning equine-assisted therapeutic horseback riding program which provides training for therapeutic horseback riding instructors. The training is used to provide riding services at other centers to children and adults across the United States. The facilities are in Corinth, Texas, just north of Dallas. The program has grown to serve more than 15,000 individuals worldwide through our licensing program. SpiritHorse was originally conceived to provide therapy at the Corinth site and now focuses on building other centers across America. Each center provides private therapeutic horseback-riding services to children with disabilities, children with terminal illnesses, children who are victims of abuse, at-risk-youth, and battered women. This year we plan to expand our program for educational services in the form of therapeutic riding to Parkinson patients and those suffering from dementia.
