Mission Statement
The mission of the Wakefield Food Pantry is to provide food and household necessities to residents in need. We strive to provide high-quality service to our guests with respect, dignity, sensitivity, and integrity.
About This Cause
Our volunteers help to meet the food and household needs of almost 600 families (about 1,100 people) who visit the pantry each year by: Each week, transporting 4000-6000 pounds of food purchased from the Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB) to Wakefield. For every dollar spent, we purchase four dollars’ worth of food Shopping at grocery stores when necessary to supplement GBFB items and donations Unloading, sorting and shelving food at the pantry Assisting our guests with their shopping at the pantry
