Mission Statement
The Atlanta Youth Tennis and Education Foundation (AYTEF) is a non-profit organization, established to meet the needs of under resourced children in the metro Atlanta area. Our mission is to enrich the lives of underserved youth through tennis and education, both on and off the court.
About This Cause
Established in 2003, the Atlanta Youth Tennis & Education Foundation (AYTEF) is a nonprofit organization focused on enhancing the lives of under-resourced youth through tennis and education. AYTEF, a registered National Junior Tennis & Learning (NJTL) organization, undergoes annual accreditation reviews with the United States Tennis Association Foundation (USTAF). As an NJTL, we're part of a nationwide network of over 270 community tennis associations that use sports to promote holistic youth development and wellness. Located at the Fair Oaks Tennis Center in Marietta, Georgia, we serve students from kindergarten through 12th grade, primarily from nearby Title I schools. Our focus is on minority communities, including Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino, and multiracial youth. To ensure accessibility, we offer our programs for free or at a low cost, with additional assistance for low-income families. Fair Oaks Tennis Center is situated in zip code 30008, identified by the United Way Child Well-Being Index as an area in high need of youth development, with many residents facing financial instability and lower graduation rates. In 2023, 90% of our participants were minorities, with 48% eligible for free and reduced lunch, highlighting our dedication to supporting underserved communities. AYTEF's flagship program, GameSetMatch, provides year-round tennis, academic, and life skills development for students in grades K-8. Held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m., the program offers 1 hour and 15 minutes of tennis alongside character development and academic enrichment sessions. Additional tennis-only sessions are available on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. We also offer virtual STEM curriculum focused on coding and science experiments on Thursday afternoons. Once a month, we host a Block Party, a community outreach event featuring free food, tennis, games, and prizes to raise awareness and engagement in our programs and mission.
