Cristo Rey High School Sacramento (CRHSS), rooted in the traditions of the Sisters of Mercy and Society of Jesus (Jesuits), transforms lives by providing a rigorous college preparatory education and professional work experience to high school students with limited financial resources.

Vision Statement of Cristo Rey High School Sacramento: Cristo Rey Sacramento’s vision is to create the most effective and highly regarded high school that transforms underserved students into faith-filled, educated, professional and service-oriented people. Integral Student Outcomes: Cristo Rey Sacramento is a community committed to: 1) understanding the core beliefs of the Catholic faith; making ethical decisions consistent with Gospel values; building a just world by serving others; fostering a personal relationship with God through prayer and worship. 2) encouraging academic achievement; developing critical, creative, and disciplined thought; taking responsibility for one’s own education; fostering perseverance; promoting lifelong learning. 3) demonstrating the skills and habits needed for achievement in the workplace; understanding the requirements and opportunities of today’s economy; appreciating the value of high standards and hard work. We are proud to be a member of the Cristo Rey Network, this year (2016) marking 20 years since the opening of the first school in Chicago. This system of 30 high schools across the country - including San Francisco, San Jose, and Los Angeles - provides a unique education that combines rigorous college prep instruction with a Work-Study program that gives students valuable experience in business, law, medicine, marketing, government, environment, and other professional areas. When Cristo Rey students graduate, they have over 1200 hours of professional work experience that prepares them for success in college, careers and life!
