Mission Statement

Founded in 1909, the Boston branch of the Vedanta Society serves the philosophical, religious and cultural needs of the community through lectures, study groups, prayer meetings, meditation sessions, and service opportunities.

About This Cause

Ramakrishna Vedanta Society focuses on building a vibrant spiritual community, cutting across cultural, racial, religious and political boundaries, where earnest truth-seekers can learn about harmony of religions, divinity of the soul, and selfless service of the underprivileged, as ways of attaining fulfillment, perfection and collective well-being. The Society's programs include a Sunday Service (11 AM), Wednesday study group (7:30 PM), and Tue/Sat meditation hours (6 PM). There are also programs held on MIT and Harvard campuses. In addition, Swami Tyagananda gives spiritual guidance and meditation instruction on request.
