Mission Statement
Jewish Family Services enhances and strengthens quality of life through the Jewish tradition of caring and compassion. With your generosity, Jewish Family Services is able to support the basic human needs of our community and help those on the path toward emotional well-being and self-reliance.
About This Cause
We offer a comprehensive set of programs that meets the needs of the whole person: • Anja Rosenberg Kosher Food Pantry- the area's only free kosher/halal food source, offering fresh produce, eggs, pantry staples, spices, pet food, diapers, paper goods, and much more. • Counseling Services- counseling and psychiatric care with licensed clinicians for children, adolescents, families, adults, and older adults. • Community Support for Youth Mental Health- addresses youth mental health right here in our community, providing tools, support, and knowledge to help young people thrive. • Holocaust Survivors Program- provides assistance for 252 low-income survivors, and works closely with clients to make sure they have all they need to live life as fully as possible. • Russian Speaking Older Adult Support- support for refugees from the former Soviet Union, providing translation, food access, access to benefits, help navigating medical bills, and much more. • Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) Case Management Program- aids survivors of crime as they navigate the court system, helps them find the resources they need, and promotes healing in the aftermath of violence. • Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF, formerly Welfare to Work) Case Management Program- helps TANF recipients as they develop life goals, increase their income, and avoid eviction or utility shut-off notices. • Care at Home by JFS- provides in-home support for older adults, helping them age in place with a team of caregivers who assist with activities of daily living. Care at Home by JFS operates as a dynamic social enterprise. The income from these services both sustain the program, and also fuel the provision of free and subsidized services for the broader community. • Comprehensive Community Supports- offers holistic case management that helps people access essential support and tools that reduce barriers to financial independence. • Money Coach- helps people take charge of their finances and their lives with expert help from a volunteer Certified Financial Planner. Refugee Support- JFS works with partners to support refugees, helping newcomers who have endured hardship to meet basic needs and acclimate to life in our community.
