About This Cause

The Village for Families & Children does whatever it takes to help children, adults and families transform their lives. For over 200 years, The Village has been committed to serving children. Today, we have evolved into one of the most respected child and family serving organizations in Greater Hartford, CT helping vulnerable children and families at all levels of need − from children who have severe emotional or mental health problems to those who need extra support and guidance to stay on a successful path. The Village recently added behavioral health services for adults, a natural extension of our exceptional services for children and families. Our mission is to build a community of strong, healthy families who protect and nurture children. We achieve our mission when we help children succeed academically and socially, help parents develop effective parenting skills, help families prevent and manage crises, help individuals overcome substance use, and when needed, place children in safe and permanent homes.
