Interval House is dedicated to ending domestic violence and providing services that will precent and break the cycle of family and intimate partner abuse. We strive to reach all persons at risk and bring about social change.

About This Cause

Interval House is fighting to end domestic violence. Founded in 1977 by three women in a Hartford church basement, the agency has grown to become Connecticut's largest, serving more than 6,800 clients from 24 towns and cities in the Greater Hartford area each year. Interval House's services include a 24-hour hotline; safety planning and domestic violence counseling; emergency shelter; support groups for adults and children; court and legal advocacy; programs for children, teens and college students; and community education and awareness. Interval House offers options, support, and connections to victims of domestic violence. Standing with abused women and children in their struggle for safety and justice, Interval House provides a safe place for victims to live and concrete information and education to understand and deal with their individual situations. Victims are given direction and tools to utilize other community resources and to empower themselves. Since its founding, Interval House has made a positive difference in the lives of nearly 250,000 people who have experienced psychological and physical abuse at the hand of a domestic or intimate partner.
