Mission Statement
The House of Bread provides urban ministry to the economically disadvantaged in the Hartford area. Compassion, dignity and respect are characteristics of our services to the hungry, homeless and needy population.
About This Cause
Our programs include providing a basic meal and a safe place, to housing assistance to low income individuals & families, to teaching English & assisting individuals to earn a high school diploma, to offering employment skills training, to transitional housing for those in recovery. Our staff and volunteers make a difference for those in need and on the margins in Hartford and the surrounding communities on a daily basis.
