Mission Statement
Covenant to Care for Children channels the generosity of caring and faithful people to advocate for, and provide direct assistance to Connecticut’s children who are neglected, abused and/or impoverished.
About This Cause
Covenant to Care for Children Programs: Our Adopt A Social Worker program works with over 200 faith and community based communities to benefit thousands of Connecticut children by providing the critical material needs that help stabilize their living situations. Without the efforts of over 1,000 volunteers and donors, this initiative would not be a success. Our Critical Goods Distribution program assists social workers who are attempting to reunify and preserve families by providing them with goods such as furniture and clothing. During any given fiscal year, we deliver an average of $175,000 worth of usable goods to families in need. On a yearly basis, around 500 children are provided with beds, dressers, a table to eat at and do homework on and other goods that they too often go without. The CCC Children's Enrichment Fund is a program responding to the unusual requests that support the care and nurturing of children and youth. This program provides a fund designed to accept designated donations for the special needs of children. Social workers can request these funds for the needs of children that are not met by State Government departments, other agencies, or our AASW Program. Funding examples are summer camp, haircuts, lessons, art, music, sports, tutoring, bikes, or special books. Crisis Food Support is a program for delivery of staples and fresh food for one-time emergencies in families with children in Greater Hartford and Greater New Britain regions.
