Mission Statement
Our mission is to rescue homeless animals and provide the means by which they can be rehabilitated and find permanent, loving homes. We will spread the no-kill philosophy and educate the public about humane care and respect for all living things. We believe that each animal should be treated for its individual needs and that each one deserves every chance of living a safe, loving and protected life.
About This Cause
Over the past decade Little Victories has grown and evolved. Little Victories has a 115 acre farm located in Ona, WV where homeless animals are housed. The animal rescue facility is currently home for approximately 150 animals. There is a great need for expansion of our animal rescue and sanctuary services. The Spay Neuter Assistance Program of West Virginia reports that statistics from animal shelters in 55 counties in WV showed that nearly 54% of all animals entering shelters are euthanized. Little Victories operates under a "no kill" philosophy guaranteeing the health and safety of companion animals. Little Victories provides medical care, spaying, neutering, and strives to provide forever homes through adoption. If an animal is not in a state that permits them to be currently adoptable, we will provide sanctuary where they will be loved and safe. Education and outreach is also a focus for Little Victories. We have implemented programs to educate school age children about the humane treatment of animals. With this outreach we strive to see these children grow into caring, responsible pet owners. We engage in various forms of outreach to the community to make them aware of the various benefits of animals. Our focus goes beyond the adoption of animals and includes the enrichment of lives in the community through pet ownership. Little Victories has rescued over 1500 dogs and cats since our conception. Our adoption rate is at the highest it has ever been. Over the past year, over 200 animals have been placed in their forever homes.
