Mission Statement

XBOT Robotics enables high school students in under-served Seattle communities the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in STEM through participation in FIRST robotics competitions as well as ancillary programs that include 3D Printing and the Franklin High School maker space.

About This Cause

In 2001, a band of robot enthusiasts decided to bring the FIRST Robotics program to an inner city, under-served high school – Franklin HS Seattle, WA. These individuals wanted to make a difference to students who do not have the experience and/or opportunity with STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) projects. FHS is a uniquely diverse school with 95% students of color & 68% free/reduced lunch students. XBOT Robotics was established (2009) to provide after school/summer/Saturday workshops and FIRST robotics team support offered to elementary, middle & high school students of SE Seattle. XBOT Robotics  is dedicated to providing educational opportunities in STEM fields while: --- (1) Reinforcing the self-confidence of our students --- (2) Enhancing students’ problem solving skills through hands-on learning approach --- (3) Increase awareness of the student to pursue a career in STEM disciplines. --- (4) Adding "A" to STEM = STEAM with the addition of our laser cutter and 3D printing training, xbot robotics is teaching educators and students how to incorporate this cutting edge technology with art projects.
