About This Cause
The Albanian American Cultural Center provides cultural experiences from education to dramatic arts to sports for children and young adults, primarily living in the City of Riverdale. The Albanian Associated Fund developed a weekend education program with the primary focus of the school is to teach children the language, culture and folklore of Albania, for children ages 5 to 18, which has become a safe haven for many children. The weekend education program serves children in one (1) of five (5) courses, depending on the child's age: First course 5-6 years old (Grades k-1) Second course 7-8 years old (Grades 2-3) Third course 9-11 years old (Grades 4-6) Fourth course 12-13 years old (Grades 7-8) Fifth group 14-18 years old (Grades 9-12) Teachers consist of volunteers from the Albanian Associated Fund's membership, who are caring and dedicated to the success of the students. The teachers find the volunteer work extremely fulfilling, because the children are extremely eager to learn. They enjoy the projects, especially the craft and art projects and annual field trips.
