About This Cause
Pets Alive, Inc. is a no kill animal rescue organization situated on over 80 acres of property, located at 363 Derby Road, Middletown, NY 10940. It is surrounded by woods and pastures, creating a tranquil environment for the animals within our care. Pets Alive rescues about 600 cats, dogs and farm animals every year and finds loving homes for about an equivalent number. The organization often takes in local stray cats and dogs as well as dogs from shelters that face overcrowding so they do not have to resort to killing. Additionally, Pets Alive works with local law enforcement on rescuing animals involved in cruelty or abuse cases, such as is the case with the intake of our horses. Animals that come within their care continue their lives at the facility until they are adopted. For some, it may take years due to behavioral challenges, however, through unique training and adoptability programs, staff and volunteers continue to work with these animals to help them overcome these challenges. At any given time, Pets Alive cares for about 200 animals.
