Mission Statement
To rescue Jewish children from very disadvantaged backgrounds in the Former Soviet Union, and bring them to Lezion B’rina Institute where they receive a very strong secular and Jewish education in a warm and accepting environment allowing them to flourish and succeed in life.
About This Cause
Lezion B'rina is a unique high school on the outskirts of Jerusalem for Jewish teenage boys from poor and disadvantaged backgrounds in the Former Soviet Union. Lezion B’rina’s students, many of whom are orphans, have lacked nurturing homes and a stable family life. Lezion B’rina takes in these boys and provides not only nutritious food and a safe place to rest their heads at night, but all the tools and support needed to foster their academic, social and spiritual development. Over the past 23 years, Lezion B'rina has been instrumental in molding hundreds of youngsters into productive members of Israeli society. The school’s success at helping to shape a generation of leaders was recently recognized by Israel’s Department of Education with the Pras Hachinuch Award. Graduates pursue higher education and careers in all areas of business, the Israel Defense Forces, commerce, the media, and high tech fields, where their inborn talents and intelligence, nurtured by the school, allow them to excel. Nearly all (94%) of Lezion B’rina’s alumni have made aliyah, solidifying their connection to the Jewish homeland.
