Mission Statement
Founded in 1993 by Babylon community activists concerned with the high incidence of breast cancer on Long Island. The Babylon Breast Cancer Coalition (BBCC) is a still a grass-roots organization but now serves the entire Babylon Township community by providing education, research support, advocacy programs and direct patient service and support; helping to ease the burdens that breast and all gynecological cancers puts on patients and their families.
About This Cause
The Babylon Breast Cancer Coalition (BBCC) is a nonprofit volunteer-based organization dedicated to breast & gynecological cancer concerns. Founded in 1993, the BBCC continues to be a grass-roots organization, providing am array of patient support services, education and advocacy programs. The BBCC focuses on five essential goals: Prevention, Research, Education, Services & Support. Our Lend a Helping Hand program (LAHH) provides much needed stress relief for breast and gynecological cancer patients and their families by providing one-on-one support and services (to include transportation to and from cancer related appointments, financial assistance, prepared food, housecleaning, child care and more). The BBCC also provides the Gift of Health and Inspiration (GOHI) bags to the newly diagnosed cancer patient. This insulated tote bag is filled with comfort items and information for post surgical patients.
