Mission Statement
Established in 1917 as one of the first Jewish community centers in New York City, the YM & YWHA of Washington Heights and Inwood has thrived as a visionary not-for-profit human services organization with a mission to foster inclusive diverse community enhancing people’s lives with high quality programs and services.
About This Cause
Compassion to the frail elderly, support to young families, inclusive youth programming where children of diverse backgrounds and abilities are celebrated, workforce development for low income immigrant youth, social services for those who are vulnerable and oppressed-these are some of the programs the Y is proud to provide. We are looking for new ways to expand and enhance our programming for at risk teens that are struggling with socio economic challenges and to further advocate for and advance the inclusion of people with disabilities.
