About This Cause
Employment for all: Goodwill helps more than 9,000 people in NY & NJ each year overcome barriers to employment and find independence through the power of work. Goodwill supports people who are unemployed or underemployed, and individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and mental health diagnoses to find community, stay healthy, and achieve their goals. Protecting the planet: Goodwill’s thrift stores throughout NY and NJ are sustainability champions. By re-purposing 37 million pounds of pre-loved clothing and home goods each year, Goodwill prevents more than 55k metric tons of CO2 pollution each year. Powered by donations of clothing and household goods, Goodwill stores improve our collective impact on the planet, offer sustainable shopping and raise funds to support our employment programs serving more than 9,000 people.
