Mission Statement
In a warm and nurturing school environment that celebrates the enormous diversity of our students, parents and staff, Marble Hill Nursery School instills in our children social confidence, compassion towards others, developmentally-appropriate skills, and a life-long love of learning.
About This Cause
Marble Hill Nursery School is located in the Marble Hill Houses, a NYCHA Housing Development in the Northwest Bronx. It was founded as a parent cooperative by families living in the houses and the surrounding area in 1953. With guidance from Bank Street College, it has become a flag bearer for high quality progressive education and a neighborhood institution beloved by over three generations of families. We serve an ethnically and socio-economically diverse population of families from Marble Hill, Spuyten Duyvil, and Riverdale in the Bronx, and Washington Heights and Inwood in northern Manhattan.
