Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide each child we serve with a safe, permanent, loving family and the opportunity to succeed in school and life.

About This Cause

Founded in 1806 by Elizabeth Schuyler Hamilton along with other prominent and progressive New York City women, Graham Windham is the nation’s longest-serving child welfare agency and has been a leader in pioneering programs for over two centuries. In full partnership with families and communities, Graham Windham strives to make a life-altering difference with children, youth and families affected by abuse, neglect, poverty and delinquency. Our mission is to provide each child we serve with a safe, permanent, loving family and the opportunity to succeed in school and life. Today, we provide child welfare, educational, vocational, youth development and other social service programs in New York City’s neediest communities in the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Harlem, as well as at our residential campus and our K-12 Graham School located in Westchester County.
