Mission Statement
WE PROVIDE FIREFIGHTERS AND THEIR CHILDREN WITH COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS The New York State Honorary Fire Chiefs Association was founded in 1950. Our Mission Statement is to provide financial assistance for educational purposes to New York State paid firefighters and their children. We also present a number of NYSHFCA Medals of Valor and maintain firefighter memorials.

Educational Scholarships The NYSHFCA presents educational scholarships to professional firefighters and children of firefighters. Scholarships start at $3000. 23rd Street Fire Memorial >> We maintain the memorial of the 12 firefighters who gave the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty on October 17, 1966. Wooster Street Memorial >> We maintain the memorial of the 6 firefighters who gave the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty on February 14, 1958. Affiliations We are proudly affiliated with the New York State Professional Firefighters Association and the FDNY. New York State Fallen Firefighters Memorial We maintain The New York State Fallen Firefighters’ Memorial at the Empire State Plaza, in Albany, New York is perhaps the finest memorial to both career and volunteer firefighters in America, this striking bronze monument is dedicated to the more than 2000 firefighters who have lost their lives in the line of duty in New York State. Ted Green Memorial Scholarship Fund This fund awards upstate and downstate scholarships to children of firefighters in the amount of $1,000. FDNY Medal Day Ceremonies NYSHFCA presents the New York State Honorary Fire Chiefs Association Medal and a $1,000 monetary award. In addition every other year we award the Shelly Rothman Medal with a $500 award. New York State Professional Firefighters Association Medal Day NYSHFCA presents the New York State Honorary Fire Chiefs Medal and a $1,000 monetary award. We maintain the Wooster Street Memorial.
