Mission Statement

The Four Seas Players was originally established to develop, produce, and promote plays and theatrical entertainment of specific interest to Asian theatre. Chinese and western classics and contemporary works, both in their original language and in translation, are produced in Cantonese, English, or Mandarin with appropriate subtitles to reach the widest audience. The Four Seas Players also supports the development, performance, publication of works by new Asian playwrights and translators, working both in and out of the United States. It also encourages the work of actors, directors, and designers as well as videotape artists and photographers needed to support and record these works. The Four Seas Players is not organized for pecuniary profit and no part of its net earnings shall ensure to the benefit of any members, directors or individuals.
