Mission Statement

The Community Center of Northern Westchester seeks to improve the well-being and self-sufficiency of neighbors in need in Northern Westchester by providing food, clothing, programs, and other resources. We encourage broad involvement and participation by residents and organizations in the communities we serve.

About This Cause

We make a tangible difference in the lives of our neighbors: we take the edge off hunger and exposure with food and clothing, and we equip them with practical tools they can use to reach self–sufficiency, including job counseling, classes imparting construction skills, computer literacy and English language, school supplies and educational scholarships. We enable them to improve the quality of their lives with health screenings and clinics, nutrition workshops, summer camp scholarships, and more. We are supported by 31 religious, civic and educational organizations, and sustained by the generosity of the greater Northern Westchester community. Driven by prodigious volunteer power, the Center shares the essentials of living with families in need from 37 communities across Northern Westchester. Over 1,800 families come to the Center each year to partake of such basics; among those battling hunger in these families, 34% are children. Our services are available to anyone in need in Northern Westchester, free of charge to all who need help -- new arrivals, as well as residents with deep roots in our community.
