Mission Statement
Parent organization to support FIRST Robotics Competition Team 1747, Harrison Boiler Robotics from William Henry Harrison High School in West Lafayete, IN.
About This Cause
FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) was founded in 1989 to inspire young people's interest and participation in science and technology. FIRST is more than robots. Based in Manchester, NH, the non-profit public charity designed accessible, innovative programs that motivate young people to pursue education and career opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), while building self-confidence, knowledge, and life skills. Harrison Boiler Robotics was founded in 2005. The team is dedicated to encouraging students to pursue a career in STEM related fields, inspire them to become leaders and innovators, and enhance their 21st century work-life capabilities. Every year the team completely designs, builds, programs, tests, and competes with a fully-functional robot in that year's game. The team also uses the robot for community events where we spread awareness of STEM and FIRST. Parents of the students of Harrison Boiler Robotics are members of the Harrison High School Robotics Boosters. The purpose of the boosters is to govern the funding and provide guidance to Harrison High School's robotic teams.
