Mission Statement
American Leprosy Missions exists to serve as a channel of Christ’s love to persons affected by leprosy and related diseases, helping them to be healed in body and spirit and restored to lives of dignity and hope.
About This Cause
Leprosy and other neglected tropical diseases cause suffering for more than 1 billion men, women and children. These terrible diseases affect the poorest and most marginalized people and can lead to profound pain, malnutrition, lifelong disabilities, increased poverty and isolation. Since 1906, American Leprosy Missions has been a global leader in the fight against leprosy and related diseases, helping people to be restored to lives of dignity and hope. During its more than 100-year history, American Leprosy Missions has provided holistic care to four million people around the world including medical treatment and training, prevention of disability, medical supply deliveries, community development, disease mapping and research.
