Mission Statement
In regards to the various functions of our organization – KOLEL SHOMRE HACHOMOS/Reb Meir Baal Haness is the largest and oldest charity organization in Israel. Founded over 150 years ago, Kolel Shomre Hachomos provides thousands of needy families with money, food, clothing, housing, education, medical needs and the like, with a budget of close to $10,000,000.00. With the charity received we are able to render the most necessary services of dignified care and shelter, coupled with social religious, medical and material provisions to over 25,000 dependents who do not have the means to be cared for otherwise. The Kolel provides multi-faceted functions: Supporting with minimul tuition for schooling: free loans distributed in the thousands, the old age home “Bote Machse” for the elderly and infirm, the housing complexes built to accommodate the growing families, medical care, convalescent homes for new mothers and much more.
