Project Details



Columbia Girls in STEM Initiative is developed by Columbia University’s School of Professional Studies with support from corporate partners and community organizations, the Columbia Girls in STEM Initiative helps bridge the gender gap in science, technology, engineering, and math education.
It prepares young women from underrepresented populations by focusing on three strategic approaches:
1. INTRODUCE female STEM role models and leadership

3. CONNECT the STEM classroom to the real world
A one week program held in the summer of 2017, the initiative includes 4 cohorts of 25 girls taking place in New York, Miami, San Francisco and Washington, DC.
