About This Cause
About Hospice is not a place. It is a way of caring. Rather than focusing on medications to keep you alive as long as possible, hospice focuses on quality of life and choices. Decisions are based on the wishes and desires of the individual and their families. Our clinical and professional expertise offers guidance at a time when it is needed most and provides freedom to enjoy the highest quality of life possible for the terminally ill and their families: nurses offer our patients relief from pain and support for their family; social workers guide a family's focus on strengthening relationships as well as dealing with day-to-day issues such as completing necessary documents, applications for insurance coverage, or veteran's paperwork; bereavement counselors and chaplains comfort each family coming to terms with impending loss. When are you eligible? To qualify for hospice, patients must have a life-limiting illness with a life expectancy of six months or less. Each patient or family must choose hospice care with the understanding that the patient is not being treated for a cure, and the patient’s physician must agree that hospice is appropriate. What does hospice cost? It’s an affordable option. Hospice costs are covered by Medicare, Medicaid and most private insurance plans. No one is ever turned away for inability to pay. Our staff can assist patients and families with determining coverage. Our Team Our team provides a circle of support for you and your family.
