Mission Statement
Philharmonia Northwest contributes to the vitality of the classical music community in the Pacific Northwest by presenting professional level concerts highlighting the diverse past and present repertoire for chamber orchestra. It is dedicated to promoting local composers and performers, and its outreach programs educate and inspire younger musicians and audiences of all ages.
About This Cause
Philharmonia Northwest (PNW) has drawn an active and engaged community of audience, performers, supporters, and volunteers from the rich diversity of the Puget Sound area. A loyal listening audience appreciates and responds to the wide repertoire of the orchestra, ranging from chamber music to larger symphonic works that gain from the clarity and precision of a smaller ensemble. Attracted by our consistently high standard of performance—unusual for a non-professional orchestra—talented musicians from throughout the region volunteer to play with the orchestra, contributing to its long-term stability and success through their dedication and talents. Other volunteers, such as board members and the many individuals who keep the orchestra going on a day-to-day basis, such as staffing the box office and ushering at performances, give of their time to insure the continuing success of the orchestra.
