Mission Statement
New Directions' mission is to foster resilient, self-reliant families and permanence for at-risk children in the shortest time possible, by promoting safe, respectful, responsible, and goal-directed behavior.
About This Cause
New Directions empowers children and families experiencing emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges to create positive changes. We offer a continuum of services that includes community-based prevention, residential and foster care, education, and mental health services, across Western New York. New Directions Youth and Family Services is a non-profit built on 150-years of service and a proven record of responding to the ever-changing needs of the children and families we serve. New Directions was formed by the merger of the Wyndham Lawn Home for Children (Lockport, NY) and Randolph Children’s Home (Randolph, NY), both of whom began caring for children in the 1870s. With more than 20 programs nationally recognized by the Council on Accreditation and a broad array of resources, we match children and families with appropriate care that capitalizes on strengths to establish effective relationships, build character, and develop skills necessary for life.
