Mission Statement
The mission statement of the organization is the following: The Valley Community Association is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of the residents of the Buffalo River Community by meeting individual and family needs and promoting environmental beautification. Advocating a strong sense of empowerment and ownership, the Valley Community Association’s committed staff and volunteers serve infants through older individuals with health related, educational, economic, social, and recreational assistance and opportunities.
About This Cause
The Valley Community Association Inc. (VCA) is a non-profit, multi-faceted human service agency located in southeast Buffalo. Founded in 1969, the VCA serves residents of the Buffalo River Community by providing services and programs for all ages including: affordable child care that is nurturing, educational, and stimulating for children ages 6 weeks and up; academic, social, and recreational programming for school age youth; programs and services for senior citizens that promote socialization and wellness; family support services including a food and clothing pantry, resume preparation, and job search assistance; community events such as the Buffalo River Fest and the “Old Neighborhood” St. Patrick’s Day Parade; and neighborhood beautification projects such as the Buffalo River Fest Park, Hamburg Street Park, and Valley Nature Park and Habitat Trail.
