Mission Statement
Spiritus Christi Church is an inner-city church providing religious services and pastoral care, as well as nationally-recognized outreach programs to assist ex-offenders, recovering addicts and persons in need of mental health care services. All program services are provided in a non-discriminatory manner, without regard to religious beliefs, race, color, nationality, gender or sexual orientation.
About This Cause
Since its inception, Spiritus Christi has lived out its commitment and outreach to the poor. Our outreach programs include: Grace of God Recovery House (halfway house for men recovering from addiction), Jennifer House (home for women ex-offenders), Nielsen House (home for women ex-offenders), and Spiritus Christi Mental Health Center (no-fee mental health counseling and peer-led support groups). Spiritus Christi also supports a mission program in Chiapas, Mexico and a hospital in Borgne, Haiti. Some of our other community-based programs include SPARC, our anti-racism group, Buddy Readers, our tutoring program, and Speaking from the Heart, our refugee support project. In summary, Spiritus Christi rests on the pillars of inclusivity and mission to the poor. All are welcome.
