About This Cause
Franklin Center is the only private school in the state that is specifically designed for students with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or other . Offering a complete school program, we help our students succeed in a positive and unique educational environment that understands and supports their neurological, physical, social and emotional needs. Our expertly-trained staff provides a multi-sensory, hands-on learning experience that gives students the opportunity to truly enjoy learning. Each of our students receives an individually planned education, customized to each student’s current developmental level and individual learning needs. Our curriculum is based on Common Core State Standards, but is taught at their instructional level. Using small class sizes (8-10 students) and a blended teaching model, we also teach essential life skills, and social awareness and interaction. Most importantly, students at Franklin Center enjoy meaningful membership in our school community. Our students experience a safe, supportive learning environment where they feel physically and emotionally secure. Together, our students are engaged and motivated to learn and grow. Our integrated program is a journey that enables our students – who may have struggled in traditional environments – to become confident, independent, self-advocates who are prepared for their next steps in life.
