Mission Statement
At OCHIN, we believe the path to a more effective health care system starts with expanding access to quality, affordable, patient-centered care for everyone in the community. Our vision is achieving well-being and good health for everyone.
About This Cause
OCHIN Inc. (a.k.a. OCHIN) is a nonprofit leader in health care innovation, celebrating 25 years of advancing technology and knowledge solutions that strengthen care delivery in low-resource communities. We support over 300 independent health care organizations across 46 states, with more than 2,000 delivery sites serving 7.4 million patients. Our national collaborative includes community health centers (CHCs), federally qualified health centers (FQHCs), rural health clinics, behavioral health providers, dental clinics, public health agencies, correctional and school-based clinics, Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) organizations, and critical access hospitals. OCHIN is also a preferred PACE provider. In 2024, we joined forces with OSIS, a fellow national nonprofit with shared values and complementary expertise, to expand support for health centers nationwide. Results from our first KLAS survey helped our members identify opportunities to enhance the clinician experience and improve patient outcomes. OCHIN brings high-quality resources to providers in the safety net to ensure they can deliver best-in-class care to the most complex patients in the U.S. We provide integrated health IT, consultancy, and research at low cost to close care gaps and improve outcomes. Through a unified patient record for each patient, we help nearly 30% of the U.S. health care safety net deliver coordinated, whole-patient care. OCHIN is fully staffed with over 1,100 professionals who live in the communities we serve, including researchers, evaluation experts, clinicians, health care administrators, medical informaticists, training experts, health economists, communications professionals, health technology and data experts, public health experts, social scientists, regulatory specialists, project managers, and more. With a 100% remote workforce, OCHIN recruits top talent from across the country—ensuring our team reflects the diversity of the patients we serve. Over 30% of OCHIN staff have prior experience in CHCs. Many bring strengths that inform inclusive, community-driven solutions—including multilingualism, physical disabilities, and neurodivergence. Staff regularly leverage lived experience to design effective, patient-centered programs and tools. We are advancing innovation—including the use of artificial intelligence—to move the needle on health care gaps such as specialty care access, rural health access, and chronic condition prevention and treatment, unlocking the full power of our national network to transform patient and clinic outcomes through economies of scale, smarter collaboration, deeper innovation, and lasting impact. “…Being part of the OCHIN collaborative has been huge for us when it comes to participating in research, participating in pilots, having access to grants.” Community Health Center’s Chief Quality & Transformation Officer
