Mission Statement

Bengali Association of Delaware Valley (BADV), a non-profit organization, was founded in 2001. The primary objective of this organization is to add to the richness and cultural diversity of the region by fostering the rich cultural heritage of Bengalis.The association strives to bring together Bengali speaking people residing in the DE Valley region (Northern Delaware, SE Pennsylvania and Eastern Maryland) to collectively celebrate Saraswati Puja, Rabindra Jayanti, Durga Puja in addition to group activities like picnics.

About This Cause

The Vision of BADV is to nurture and promote social, cultural, artistic, and spiritual heritage of Bengal to the residents of Delaware Valley through educational, cultural, religious and charitable activities. The Mission of BADV is: • NURTURE & SHOWCASE- activities to celebrate rich cultural and spiritual heritage of Bengal • PROVIDE- education and training in Delaware Valley on understanding Bengali language, culture, art and spiritual practice. • ORGANIZE - cultural events involving (without limitation) Bengali and other Indian traditional and contemporary songs, drama and dances. • FACILITATE - periodic conferences and meetings to allow members to network and exchange ideas, information, for social enrichment. • CULTIVATE – Bengali language, history and culture into our next generation. • PLAN & HOST - events to raise funds for the relief of distress and other charitable causes.
