The Campaign Against Hunger's (TCAH) mission is to empower our neighbors to lead healthier, more productive, and self-sufficient lives by increasing access to safe, nutritious food and related resources.
About This Cause
Celebrating 25 years In 2023, The Campaign Against Hunger (TCAH) made a profound impact in feeding the hungry, embodying a story of resilience and community support. This year, TCAH's remarkable efforts included serving 1,447,111 clients and distributing 13,023,999 meals, which amounted to 575,959 bags of food weighing an extraordinary 26,206,135 lbs. This significant achievement underscores TCAH's central role in addressing food insecurity and providing vital nourishment to those in need. Alongside their primary mission of feeding the hungry, TCAH also made strides in financial empowerment, assisting 1,935 tax clients to secure tax returns totaling $3,167,121. This service not only reflects TCAH's multifaceted approach to community support but also demonstrates the trust placed in them by the community. In handling SNAP benefits, TCAH processed 499 applications, securing $168,590 in benefits. This critical assistance played a key role in sustaining food security for numerous families. The organization’s youth programs further illustrated their commitment to community development, engaging 1,383 youths, with 126 enrollments and 89 graduates, in a series of programmatic activities totaling 1,740 hours. These initiatives are instrumental in fostering the growth of future leaders and changemakers. Volunteerism has been a vital force behind TCAH’s achievements. In 2023, 1,733 unduplicated volunteers contributed 15,558 hours, and another 660 volunteers offered 5,971 hours in the fiscal year, reflecting the community's deep commitment to TCAH’s mission. The generosity of donors has been notable, with monetary donations and pledges amounting to $33,500 and in-kind food donations valued at $100,000. These contributions are a testament to the widespread support for TCAH's mission. The organization's logistical capabilities were enhanced by a fleet of vehicles, including 4 Fresh Vibes Market RVs, 2 Cyber Pantry vehicles, 1 farm vehicle, and 4 warehouse vehicles. Additionally, TCAH distributed 53,746 clothing items, including 501 winter coats, adding a personal touch to their comprehensive community aid. TCAH's story is more than just a narrative of numbers and services; it is a powerful testament to their unwavering dedication to eradicating hunger and poverty and their profound impact on countless individuals.
