About This Cause

The Red River Children’s Advocacy Center (RRCAC) is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that provides a compassionate and effective way to bring services to children victimized by abuse. Our public-private collaboration significantly reduces the trauma associated with reporting child abuse. We help coordinate care, investigation, and treatment from first report to conviction and beyond, while keeping the child at the center of everything the team does. Our services at RRCAC are provided at no cost to children and their families. These services are the stepping-stones that enable CAC staff and partners to work as a team and support children and help them heal. We are also actively involved in the child sexual abuse prevention collaborative in our community. RRCAC provides several unique and necessary services. Our services include forensic interviews, advocacy, coordination of specialized medical evaluations, and mental health services for traumatized victims and youth with problematic sexual behavior. Our services are provided to individuals referred to us because of allegations of sexual abuse, physical abuse, exploitation or neglect. We serve every child referred to us by law enforcement or social services. It does not matter where they are from geographically. Most often referrals come from a large geographic area from Western North Dakota, Eastern Minnesota, and Northeastern South Dakota. We also serve tribes in North Dakota (Spirit Lake Indian Nation and the Sisseton Wahpeton Sioux Tribal Nation) and Minnesota (White Earth and Red Lake).
