Mission Statement
Gilda's Club Kentuckiana (formerly Gilda's Club Louisville) provides support groups, social events, education, and healthy lifestyle activities all at no cost to men, women and children impacted by cancer here in our community. Any type of cancer, any stage of treatment, survivorship, and bereavement - all are welcome.
About This Cause
Gilda's Club's mission is to ensure that all people impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action, and sustained by community. Named in memory of Saturday Night Live comedienne Gilda Radner, who when describing the emotional and social support she received when she had cancer, called for such places to be made available for all people living with cancer and their connected family and friends. Gilda died from her cancer in 1989 but her legacy and her whimsy lives on here at Gilda's Club. It's a place where members are the experts at living with cancer and join with others to give and receive the benefits of love, laughter and walking this journey together.
