About This Cause

Korean American Special Education Center is a non-profit organization serving individuals with developmental disabilities since 2000. We provide educational and therapeutic services to Korean families who are disadvantaged due to their children’s disability status and/or family member struggling with mental health issues. Therefore KASEC strives to promote accurate understanding of mental health and disability among Korean Americans and immigrants through community outreach. Services and Programs • Early intervention & therapy project: Free developmental screening program for children 0- 5. • Music therapy, play therapy, speech therapy, and individual counseling • Psychosocial assessment for developmental disabilities including autism, learning disability, speech and language impairment, and adolescent depressive symptoms • ADHD consultation and referral services • Workshops and Seminars for caregivers (parenting education and special education) • Symposiums and workshops for professionals (the latest information of special education) • Information on schools and programs for special needs • Open concerts and events to increase awareness of disability. • Free magazine “Ah-Chim-Haet-Sal” about mental health and disabilities.
