Mission Statement
THE FOUNDATION Josh Groban’s Find Your Light Foundation has funded hundreds of youth arts education programs around the country (particularly in low-income areas), educates the public on the importance of arts education, and advocates for arts education funding through a myriad of different channels. THE MISSION The Find Your Light Foundation is dedicated to ensuring that each child has the opportunity to experience a quality arts education. We believe that is best achieved through direct support of exceptional arts programs combined with education, advocacy and outreach. We focus support where the need is greatest to inform and inspire others in recognizing arts education as a critical component of a young person’s development.
About This Cause
THE FACTS Arts education programs have been cut by 51% over the last 20 years, particularly in low-income areas. This is particularly tragic as a strong arts education program in these exact areas increases graduation rates from 78% to 96%. FYL’s work isn’t about making every child a professional artist. It’s about using the arts as a gateway to success in all aspects of education. When students from low-income areas are three times as likely to graduate college when exposed to a strong arts education program, it is clear the need for these programs is extreme.
