Mission Statement

Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS) is a genetic disorder that occurs in one out of every 12,000-15,000 births and affects males and females of all races and ethnicities equally. Individuals with PWS lack normal hunger and satiety cues. Thus, they are typically not able to control their food intake and will overeat if not closely supervised. These individuals tend to have behavior difficulties including obsessive-compulsive behavior and difficulty controlling emotions.

About This Cause

The Prader-Willi Syndrome Association of Colorado (PWSA) is committed to improving the quality of life and the life expectancy of those affected with Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS).
