About This Cause
Built around the concept of interdependence, our affordable housing communities support children and families who have been impacted by the foster care system, and low-to-moderate-income elders who serve as mentors and caregivers. By combining high-quality, affordable housing, wraparound therapeutic services, and intergenerational relationships, community members achieve stability, improved health and well-being, and resiliency that lasts a lifetime. Bridge Meadows is re-creating the way we live. We address three social issues with one innovative and cost-effective model. 1. Children are languishing in the foster care system and living in unsafe or unstable homes; their predicted socioemotional and economic outcomes are poor. 2. Older adults are suffering from social isolation and the high cost of living. 3. Housing costs continue to rise, increasing the risks of homelessness for families and elders. By combining stable and affordable homes, wraparound therapeutic services, and intergenerational relationships, children and families impacted by foster care and elders have the resources and stability needed to lead happy, healthy, and safe lives.
