Mission Statement
Our mission is to transform Richmond’s Highland Park area spiritually, relationally, and economically.
About This Cause
The Northside Outreach Center has several ministries that we use to help the community. We have a Food Pantry that is open once a month to the community. We also have a thrift store, where we sell high-quality goods for pennies of what they are worth. With the store we are able to get to know the community better and build relationships, thereby finding out more of the needs of the area. We have a men's group called Men of Purpose, which is our men's discipleship program. One of our biggest outreaches is our Community Christmas Store. In order to preserve the pride of parents and guardians and not engage in toxic charity, we created what we call the Community Christmas Store. The new toys that are donated by our church partners are reduced to 20% of the retail cost from Walmart or Amazon and each parent/guardian is allowed to purchase 2 gifts per child. In addition, we offer free wrapping of gifts, and refreshments are served in an inviting environment. We also have an area set up for prayer upon request. We have a Jobs for Life program. Through Jobs for Life training, lives are transformed through meaningful, mutually respectful relationships, the application of Biblical principles, the acquisition of practical work readiness skills, and assistance in finding employment upon graduation. And even better, this class is free and it’s for all ages. The NOC also has a community cookout that we call Takin' It to the Streets. Here we get to know our neighbors and find new ways to love our community.
