To empower the lives of individuals who have suffered a neurological injury, disease or disorder by promoting independent living and personal success through job and life skills training.
About This Cause
InRETURN was founded in 2004 with the guiding principle of giving back to our community. Our mission is to enrich the lives of individuals who have sustained Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and others with cognitive challenges due to illness or developmental disabilities through job and life skills training. The real-world work environment InRETURN creates trains our associates on light manufacturing tasks to help meet the needs of our customers. Jobs our associates perform include creating absorbent socks, recycling packaging materials and excess textile materials, and sorting materials in preparation for recycling. Professional supervision and guidance, infused with patience, help our associates feel accomplished and successful performing their job. Our associates report a sense of pride in their work, which helps to advance their job skills, increase ability to follow multi-step directions, and foster communication among coworkers. Our job skills are accompanied by life skills classes to teach our associates how to handle everyday issues, community involvement, financial independence, and socialization. With these tools, a strong staff support system, and the availability of an on-site psychologist we are able to help our associates achieve new levels of independence, renewed self-esteem, and achieve personal goals.
